2008
January
Susan was short listed for the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and competed at the team selection trials on 'Mellizo'.
August
She rode ‘Menora Wildfire’ to 1st place in all three tests at the Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Championships at Caboolture Showgrounds, QLD. She was Grade 1 State Champion for 2008 and won the Senior Highest Points Trophy for the second consecutive year.
2007
June
Susan rode 'Menora Wildfire' to 1st place in all three Grade 1 tests at the Riding for Disabled Queensland State Dressage Championships (held at Gatton showgrounds, QLD). She was awarded Grade 1 State Champion trophy for 2007 and also won the Senior Highest Points Trophy.
September
Susan was the winner of The Coates Sports Award at the 2007 Queensland Young Achiever Awards.
November
Susan was presented with a 2007 Sport and Recreation Queensland Rising Star Award from Womensport Queensland.
December
Susan competed at the Queensland State Rowing Championships, held at Bucca Weir, Bundaberg. She won both her races over 1000m in class TAx1.
2006
April
Susan rode 'Menora Wildfire' to 1st place in all three Grade 2 tests at the Riding for Disabled Queensland State Dressage Championships (held at Maroochy Showgrounds, QLD). She was awarded Grade 2 Section A State Champion for 2006.
May
Susan has been selected to represent Australia at the FEI Pacific Rim Para-equestrian Dressage International CPDI**** Competition in Langley, BC, Canada.
Attended a three day off-horse training camp with the National Dressage Squad at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, ACT.
July
Susan was a 2006 Nescafe Big Break Semi-finalist.
September
Achieved a 6th, 4th and 3rd place in Grade 2 on 'Conclusive Talent' at the FEI Pacific Rim Para-equestrian Dressage International CPDI**** Competition in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. She gained a Certificate of Competency for Para-Equestrian (qualified for 2008 Paralympics).
Susan was a Semi-Finalist in The Coates Sports Award at the 2006 Queensland Young Achiever Awards.
Susan was a Runner-up in the 2006 Rebel Sport Rookies Program.
October
Represented Queensland at the 2006 FEI Para-equestrian Australian National Dressage Championships. She rode 'Menora Wildfire' to 1st place in all three tests and was awarded Grade 1 Australian Champion.
2005
March
Attended a National and Talent Squad training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport and Pegasus Equestrian Centre in Canberra, ACT. Receiving coaching from paralympic coach Gill Richard and assistant coach Anne Hall.
May
Placed 1st in all three tests at the Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Championships at Maroochy Showgrounds, QLD. She rode ‘Menora Wildfire’ and was Grade 1A State Champion for 2005.
September
'Menora Wildfire' and Susan paired up in the 1st Asia Pacific Paraequestrian Video Dressage Competition hosted by Riding for Disabled Association of Japan, and placed 3rd in their walk/trot test.
October
Susan rode for Queensland in the Riding for Disabled National and International Dressage Championships at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, Victoria. She placed 2nd in all three test on her mount 'Menora Wildfire' and played part in the Queensland team winning the State Team Trophy.
2004
May
Competed at the Riding for Disabled National Dressage Championships held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre, NSW. Susan achieved three 2nd places with ‘Menora Wildfire’ and helped the Queensland team place 2nd overall in the team competition.
July
Attended a Queensland Dressage Squad, paralympic coach clinic with Gill Richard at The Cartmill Centre, Burpengary QLD.
November
Susan completed a TAFE Horsekeeping Certificate.
2003
October
Rode at the combined Riding for Disabled State and National Championships held at Arundel Park, Queensland. Competing on ‘Southern State Affair,’ Susan placed 1st in all three tests at State level and two 1st and a 3rd at National level. She was Grade 1A State Champion for 2003.
November
Susan gained her Senior Certificate and Certificates I and II in Information Technology.
2002
July
The Queensland Riding for Disabled Dressage Championships were held at Nambour Showgrounds, QLD. Susan and ‘Southern State Affair’ placed 1st in all three tests and were Grade 1A State Champion that year.
September
Competed as part of the State Dressage Team at the Riding for Disabled National Dressage Championships at the National Equestrian Centre, Werribee VIC. She teamed up again with ‘Menora Wildfire’ to come away with a 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
October
The Paralympic Selection Committee elevated Susan from the Talent Identification Squad (Australian Young Riders Squad) onto the Riding for Disabled National Dressage Squad as a Grade 1 rider.
Received a ‘D’ Standard Pony Club Efficiency Certificate.
November
Teaming with Georgia Bruce and paralympic medallist Marita Hird, Susan rode two displays representing Riding for Disabled Association of Queensland at Brisbane Equitana.
2001
February
At the State Swimming Championships for people with a disability, Susan broke the 50m Backstroke/14years Queensland Games Record and the 50m Backstroke/14years Australian Age Record.
March
Attended a three day off-horse training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, ACT. Invited to the camp was the Talent Identification Squad, current Paralympic Squad, Australian coach, assistant coach and team manager.
July
Riding ‘Southern State Affair’ at the Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Championships held at Doonan Equestrian Centre, Queensland. Susan came 1st in all three tests and was Grade 1A State Champion for 2001.
August
Susan was invited to join paralympic riders at a training camp held with Gill Richard the national coach, at her Equestrian Centre in Kurrajong NSW.
September
Represented Queensland at the Riding for Disabled National Championships held at the National Equestrian Centre, Werribee VIC. She rode ‘Menora Wildfire’ and scored two 2nd and a 3rd against the Grade 1 paralympic bronze medallist.
October
She was recognised by her local community, being awarded the 2001 Wayne Barlow Bursary for excelling in swimming and equestrian dressage.
2000
March
Achieved the Highest Score Trophy, one 2nd and two 1st at the Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Championships, on mount ‘Caliban’.
May
Competed as part of the Queensland Team at the Riding for Disabled National Dressage Championships held at the National Equestrian Centre, Werribee VIC. The team placed 3rd overall with Susan and mount ‘Gollum’ contributing two 2nd and a 3rd.
June
Susan was accepted as part of the Riding for Disabled National Talent Identification Squad (Australian Young Riders Squad).
Participated in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Torch Relay.
September
Susan attended a training camp at Doonan Equestrian Centre, Queensland with the Danish Paralympic Equestrian Team. She met her hero, Atlanta Gold Medallist, Brita Anderson and received expert coaching from Peter Kobbernagel.
1999
October
Susan was chosen to represent Queensland as part of the State Dressage Team at the Riding for Disabled National Dressage Championships held at the Hawkesbury Showgrounds, Clarendon NSW. On mount ‘Bobby’ she gained two 1st and was Grade 1B Australian Champion for 1999.
At the State Swimming Championships for people with a disability, Susan broke the 25m Freestyle/13years, 50m Freestyle/13years, 25m Backstroke/13years, 50m Backstroke/13years and open Queensland Games Records. She also broke two Australian Age Records in 50m Freestyle/13years and 50m Backstroke/13 years.
1998
March
Rode ‘Goldie’ at her first Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Trials and placed overall 1st at the Gympie Showgrounds.
April
Susan came 1st overall at the Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Trials at the McIntyre Centre.
May
Placed 1st overall at the Queensland Riding for Disabled State Dressage Trials at Park Ridge Pony Club. She was Grade 1 State Champion for 1998 and gained selection for the Queensland State Dressage Team.
October
Competed at the Riding for Disabled National Dressage Championships held at Doonan Equestrian Centre, Queensland. She placed 1st and 4th twice in her grade against international and Australian riders. The Queensland team placed 1st overall in the teams competition.
